I always make sure I include the context of the conflict to show the reader what happened and why.The first sample I use for my topic is from a book called Memoirs of History by John Burnham. It's a short story about the Long Island Railroad crisis.This sample includes the opening lines of the Belcher-Blair war: 'The North's b attleship moved to fire on one of our destroyers. 'Stay back!' shouted Sergeant Blanchard, who was standing in the shingle while we watched it.'A woman writer called Sylvia Belcher wrote a novel about the Belcher-Blair War. In her story she shows how the results of the Belcher-Blair War affected their children and how it affected the American Union. She was obviously influenced by the American Civil War.The second sample I use is another account about the Belcher-Blair War. It's from the journals of the soldiers. It starts with these lines:'I must say that I found our American Army at the Battle of Staten Island a hard match.' 'The combined forces of both armies were defeated.' 'We were then in the neighborhood of Harlem River, where we all made a fine feast.
